In October of 2007, 10 members of Grace Church, including Rev. Victor Kim, traveled to Ekwendeni in Northern Malawi on a Mission Interpretation Trip coordinated through the Presbyterian Church in Canada. During this trip the members of Grace Church Malawi Mission Team were able to see up close, and intimately in person, the work of the church, and in particular the mission work of the Presbyterian Church in Canada through Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D) and its partner organizations in Malawi.
During the time spent in Malawi, the Mission Team was blessed to be guided by a number of gracious people who led us as we visited the work of the hospital, the churches, and programmes concerning HIV/AIDS, water and sanitation, soil and nutrition, counselling and testing, child and orphan care and so much more. The Team members were also able to spend some time at local villages through a new homestay programme, where many lasting friendships were made.
These were 2 unforgettable weeks for the Malawi Mission Team and ever since their arrival back home, the members of the Team have been presenting the stories of the people of Malawi at every opportunity. The stories of the Malawi people have been shared with the congregation through a slide show during worship service and also with the Presbytery, as well as during many smaller gatherings, both in the church and in the work place. We invite you to browse through the pictures of the Malawi Mission Trip and to see the love of Christ in action.
