The Presbytery of Calgary Macleod has embarked upon a campaign to raise funds in support of the work of Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D), specifically in the area of Agriculture in Africa and Water needs in Malawi. The Presbytery has committed to raising $100,000.00 for the work of PWS&D in 2009.
A Presbytery-wide Quilt Auction has been created to help raise the funds for the campaign. There are a total of ten handmade quilts up for auction on the website. Each quilt is uniquely and beautifully made by local quilters who are part of the various congregations within the Presbytery. Special thanks must go to the members of the Quilting Group at Grace Church, Calgary, who have contributed the bulk of the quilts up for auction.
- 1.The Quilt Auction will end on Thursday, October 8, at midnight mountain standard time. A celebration of the funds raised will take place on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 11, 2009.
- 2. Each quilt has a minimum reserve bid.
- 3. All bidders are required to submit their name and contact information, along with their bid.
- 4. Each bid will be checked for verification before it is posted on the website.
- 5. The Auction website will be updated as soon as the bids have been verified.
